Apply to participate in the Tortoise Adoption Program. ($10 fee*)

Get your enclosure ready and pass your site inspection. We will inspect your setup** to confirm it is tortoise-ready!

Acquire your Certificate of Registration (COR) to keep a federally protected desert tortoise (Gopherus agassizii) in Utah. ($75 fee*)

Obtain a desert tortoise of your choice to care for and provide it a great home!
*All fees paid to Utah Division of Wildlife Resources (UDWR).
**Due to COVID-19, a video site inspection may be possible.
